For its 2014 Community Service Day, Windermere Real Estate Southern California held a Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission (CVRM). The food drive spanned two weeks, with collection boxes located at each Windermere office in the Coachella Valley. As a result of Windermere’s efforts, over 18 large collection boxes were filled. The CVRM estimates that the amount of food in each box will feed a family of 10 for a week.

“The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission’s purpose is so critical to our community,” states Charlie White, Managing Broker. “Windermere agents were happy to participate in this activity and to give back to those in need at Thanksgiving. We are glad to support the CVRM’s efforts and keep them well-stocked for the holidays.”

Every year, Windermere holds a company-wide Community Service Day, a day Windermere agents dedicate to working together on neighborhood improvement projects. Previous years have included cleaning, landscaping, painting, and light carpentry to benefit senior citizen centers, facilities for physically and mentally challenged children and adults, public schools’ equipment and playgrounds, low-income housing, and emergency shelters, among others. Since the first Community Service Day in 1984, Windermere associates and staff have volunteered more than 350,000 hours of service to help improve our local communities.

Bob Bennion [Co-Owner of Windermere Real Estate Southern California] and I are impressed with the outpouring of generosity,” says Bob Deville, Co-Owner of Windermere Real Estate Southern California. “Our Windermere family has always tried to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need in our community. It feels good to know that at least 180 people in the Coachella Valley will have access to a hot, hearty meal as the result of our efforts. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to making the Thanksgiving Food Drive a great success and commend our agents, brokers, and staff for their charitable efforts.”
