Windermere Real Estate Southern California agents, managers, and staff have always kept close ties to the local community, giving back to a diverse set of groups in a variety of ways. Windermere Realtors^® Sally Logan and Flo Wolff both choose to share their passions for gardening and the arts, respectively, as a means of philanthropy.

Sally Logan has been trained as a Master Gardener through the Palm Desert campus for the University of California and University of California Cooperative Extension Service (UCCE). In order to receive this designation, she completed 6 months of classes and must participate in 25 hours of volunteer work per year to maintain her status in the program. As a part of her annual volunteer work, Logan gives 2 lectures per month at senior facilities in La Quinta and Palm Springs and does additional speaking engagements for other community organizations. Her lectures will begin again in January and cover a wide range of gardening topics. She also writes articles for the Master Gardener online blog. The Master Gardener program promotes sustainable gardening, including water conservation, an increasingly important topic with the ongoing drought in California. As a means of escape and keeping her gardening skills in sharp practice, Logan maintains a 1.25-acre plot of land in the high desert.

Flo Wolff is a Board Member of Visionaries of Tools For Tomorrow, an organization that fosters support and awareness for Tools For Tomorrow, an after-school non-profit organization active in the Coachella Valley for elementary school children. The program’s mission is to reach, teach, and inspire children through the arts, with no cost to the students thanks to fundraising efforts by the Visionaries. As a former teacher, Flo was drawn to the program because of its role in integrating and encouraging creative arts in children’s lives. Recently, the Heather James Art Gallery hosted a Champagne Reception for Tools for Tomorrow’s 15^th Anniversary and honored founder Rachel Druten. A custom-created piece of art was donated by Karen and Tony Barone and raffled off during the event. On December 8^th, Andrea Marcovicci is performing at Vicky’s of Santa Fe in Indian Wells, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Tools For Tomorrow. The organization’s largest fundraising event, the 9^th Annual Tools For Tomorrow Vision for the Future Award Luncheon at Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort and Spa honoring Harold Matzner, is March 5, 2015.
