Welcome Home, Toby Nordin!
Bennion Deville Homes welcomes REALTOR® Toby Nordin to the Palm Springs office, located at 201 N. Palm Canyon Drive, Suite 120, along the bustling Downtown Palm Springs village. Toby earned his real estate license in 2016 and works with clients throughout the Coachella Valley, specializing in the 48@Arenas community in Palm Springs (where he is a resident) as well as Escena. In addition to his real estate credentials, Toby is a member of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance and holds a bachelor’s degree in management from St. Joseph’s College of Maine.
Prior to entering the real estate industry, Toby built his professional skillset as an international flight attendant and as a 911 dispatcher and supervisor. These service-oriented, high-pressure roles prepared him for his real estate career. “You rely on communication and taking a proactive approach,” Toby states. “Being able to deliver a high quality of customer service is key. I stay calm and act as a voice of reason for my clients during what can be a very emotional and stressful process. Whether helping others as a flight attendant, a 911 dispatcher, or real estate agent, you are in contact with people of all backgrounds. You learn how to communicate effectively across the spectrum, which leads to the smoothest experience possible for everyone.”
Building upon a strong service track record, Toby also dazzles his clients with his organized, friendly approach. “Real estate allows me to apply my skillset as someone who is organized and genuinely interested in others. I enjoy creating and maintaining client relationships built on trust and respect. Meeting someone for the first time and finding out their needs is one of the best parts of my job. Knowing what lays ahead for them as we go through the real estate journey together is exciting. When my clients close on a home, I like to celebrate by putting a big bow on the door. It is fun to make closing day a big deal and allow all of us to bask in the thrill of the moment,” he adds. Toby’s client-first, organized approach combined with his passion for architecture and design puts his clients in position to be successful.
Growing up in Maine near the Canadian border and traveling the world has given Toby a unique perspective on life, and lifestyles. He fondly recalls crossing into Canada to go shopping in his youth, which also spurred his love for all things French. Prior to moving to Palm Springs full-time, Toby and his husband would visit the desert one week a year during winter. That single visit progressed to 5 or 6 trips, and then finally to moving here as full-time residents 2 years ago. His favorite local things to do include biking, hiking, swimming, and soaking up the excellent cultural opportunities, unique architecture, and rich history of the area. “As much as I am a Francophile, I truly love all things about Palm Springs. I wake up every day thinking how lucky we are to live here, and how lucky I am to help people enjoy the same experience,” says Toby.
Extending his passion for helping others, Toby gives back to the community in a couple of different ways. Each transaction he completes comes with a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. He is also a Board Member on the 48@Arenas HOA, serving on the Finance Committee, which allows him to have a direct impact in his neighborhood. “I wanted to start by giving back here. It is nice to see the community through this process and to get an intimate understanding of the inner workings of HOAs and condos. That knowledge allows me to be a better real estate professional as well, as I can use that to help my clients decide about communities they are considering,” continues Toby.
Bennion Deville Homes is the perfect place for Toby to call home because of the company’s local support and community standing. “We get the best of all worlds. Bennion Deville Homes is backed by HomeServices of America but has a boutique and locally owned feel. Our market share, local support, and culture of collaboration are huge. The people make the brand, and we are surrounded by incredible people. Bennion Deville’s market share and local reputation made the decision an easy one,” Toby concludes.
Adds Managing Broker Dean Foster, “Toby Nordin has the perfect background to be successful with Bennion Deville Homes. He has a people-first approach, a great attitude, and the right skillset to effectively help his clients succeed regardless of their goals. We are excited to welcome Toby to our office and look forward to supporting him and his clients.”
