Halloween in San Diego is special and one of the best times of the year to get into the spirit of the season. With a ton of spooky sites and haunting frights to experience each year, San Diego does Halloween right. Below is a short list of our favorite local haunts, ranging from giant parties to Dia de los Muertos celebrations around San Diego County:

Balboa Park Halloween Family Day – October 26, 11am-4pm

Nightmare on Normal Street – October 26, starting at 5pm

WCKD Village (formerly known as Monster Bash) – October 26, 6pm – Midnight

Encinitas Dia de los Muertos – October 26, noon -4pm

Carrera de los Muertos San Diego & Los Angeles – October 26 (Los Angeles) and November 3 (San Diego)

Oceanside Dia de los Muertos – October 27, 10am-4pm

Of course, if you are feeling especially brave, you can head to one of the many Haunted Houses, including a real haunted house, around town, too.
