What started out as a modest, 3-hour event in 1973 has snowballed into the largest regatta in the world, and it is held right here in Southern California in “America’s Finest City” – San Diego! The San Diego Crew Classic pits a variety of racing classes, including high school junior programs, collegiate teams, masters’ clubs, and Olympic-level competition, against each other to see who comes out on top. Held April 1 and 2 at Mission Bay Park, San Diego Crew Classic brings the exciting, fast-paced sport of competitive rowing to the shores of San Diego.

Nothing beats a day on the water, but especially when the water is filled with world-class athletes showcasing their talents in exhilarating eight-oared rowing shells. As a hotbed for water sports, and featuring arguably the best weather in the world, San Diego is the ideal city to host rowing’s best and brightest for a two-day competition.
