Maria Capri-Horsman, REALTOR®, joins the La Quinta office of Bennion Deville Homes, located at 47-250 Washington Street. Maria, a California native, has been in the real estate industry since 1985 and earned her California real estate sales license in 1996. She works with clients throughout the Coachella Valley, specializing in the communities of La Quinta, Indio, and Coachella. In addition to her real estate license, Maria holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in finance with a minor in real estate development. She is also fluent in Spanish.

After being encouraged to earn her real estate license, Maria found the industry to be the perfect profession for her because of her desire to assist others in improving their lives. Her caring, compassionate, and helpful nature is ideal for any client, whether buying or selling their home, especially when coupled with her industry experience and knowledge. “I love to help people and find it rewarding to assist them in accomplishing their goals,” Maria says. “Getting my clients successfully through the process is fulfilling. Knowing that I am making a positive impact in the lives of others motivates me to be the best I can be every single day.”

Maria’s real estate career includes experience in residential resale, commercial real estate, and working with custom homebuilders and developers of large subdivisions to market and sell their homes. Through it all, she has developed a keen sense for business and what it takes to build a successful practice – a commitment to client service founded on trust. “I treat people with respect, honesty, and integrity above all. I always work to do what’s in the best interest of my client, regardless of the circumstances. This builds trust with my clients because they see my actions, not just hear my words, and understand that I go above and beyond the call to ensure their needs are being met in an ethical fashion. This philosophy has led to repeat and referral business because my clients know that I will take care of them, their family, friends, and anyone else who is in need of my services,” Maria continues.

In addition to her commitment to delivering a high-quality brand of client service, Maria has a ferocious work ethic, which was born at an early age. “My father was a farmer and taught me to work hard at everything that I do. From the age of 12, I learned to stock shelves in our store and how to conduct myself professionally. I still carry that mentality and desire to work hard each day to the benefit of my clients,” Maria adds.

A California native, Maria was born in Los Angeles and visited the Coachella Valley since she was a teenager before moving to the Southern California desert full-time in 2012. Additionally, Maria and her husband lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, for 13 years. Her personal and professional backgrounds give her the perfect blend of experience, attitude, and understanding to work with clients from all walks of life and countries. “I can help my Canadian clients understand the differences between how real estate business is conducted in California and Canada. There are some subtle nuances between the two in both terminology and procedure that are important, and I am always happy to help guide my clients through the process so we arrive a positive outcome for everyone.”

When Maria isn’t helping her clients solve real estate puzzles, she can be found giving back to the local community. She cares deeply about a couple of key causes, including helping the homeless and animals. “I help out anyway that I can, including donations to FIND Food Bank. As a professional, I want to help people get into a home and live the best possible life that they can. That carries over into one of my personal passions – helping people who are homeless get back on their feet and into a home, which is part of the process of improving their lives.” In addition to helping others, Maria enjoys gardening and loves horses, especially watching horse jumping. Maria and her husband have also flipped several homes together, which gives her an eye for a good deal and a strong creative eye for design.
