Taking to the skies over Palm Springs starting at 10am on Memorial Day (Monday, May 29^th), the Flower Drop & Air Fair at the Palm Springs Air Museum is one of the most spectacular ways to spend the Memorial Day holiday. This year’s drop will also commemorate the 75^th anniversary of the Doolittle Tokyo Raid, and the sister of 2^nd Lt. Aden Jones, who was a bombardier in the raid, will accept the Congressional Gold Medal on her brother’s behalf. Jones passed away before the Government awarded the medals to the Doolittle Raid participants in 2015.

In addition to the drop of 3,000 red and white carnations, there are flight exhibitions, a live band, food trucks, and a beer garden, as well as attractions for kids, including Totally Twisted Balloons and Harpo the Clown. Planes participating in the flight exhibition include the P-51, P-63, T-28, the Bearcat, and PBJ Marine B-25 bomber, which will be dropping the carnations. Additionally, front and rear seat tickets may be purchased on the B-25.
