Bennion Deville Homes proudly welcomes REALTOR® John Rivett to the Paul Kaplan Group Palm Springs, with offices located at 201 N. Palm Canyon Drive in the heart of the Downtown Palm Springs village. John earned his real estate sales license in 2020 and works with clients throughout the Coachella Valley, including the communities of Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, and Palm Desert. In addition to earning his real estate license, John also studied real estate development and environmental land use at UC San Diego.
Prior to becoming a full-time REALTOR®, John enjoyed a successful career in project management and conducting analyses of real estate holdings for major universities to advance their development and fundraising operations. “My background in data analysis within the real estate industry, along with my experience working directly with key stakeholders and benefactors at the universities, allows me to read both the data and the people receiving the data,” John states. “I can distill market information and make sense of it to help my clients make the best decision for their situation. Additionally, I have great instincts for where people are coming from and how I can help them accomplish their real estate goals.”
The key to John’s success is his ability to listen to clients and remain in tune with their needs. “Really listening to my clients and understanding what they want is essential to delivering the results they require. It is also important to have emotional intelligence as a real estate professional. Beneath real estate transactions are so many driving circumstances, from marriage and divorce to relocation and investment. Regardless of a client’s specific needs or situation, I love being a trustworthy resource and intend to always work with honesty, integrity, and professionalism,” John continues.
In addition to working with others, John enjoys and has a keen eye for architecture and design. He can deploy his ability to see a home’s best qualities to aid his clients in properly marketing their property for sale, and also help a homebuyer see the potential in a home that aligns with their lifestyle goals. Adds John, “You must prepare properly and showcase listings in the best light to attract the right buyers. It is also important to gather the right information and share it with prospective buyers and their agents to position the home on the market. If buyers can’t imagine themselves in the listing, I haven’t done my job.”
Working in multiple professional roles that require a high degree of confidentiality, John holds his clients’ information in strict confidence. “I keep and respect confidential information for my clients and avoid over-indulging when it’s not necessary. Our clients place their trust in us to safeguard their privacy, from their personal and private information to opening their homes for showings. People’s spaces are sacred, so I always make sure to acknowledge that by being respectful and confidential.”
Originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin, John enjoys the desert’s incredible and unique quality of life, knowledge he zealously shares with his clients. He has owned property in the Coachella Valley since 2011 and made the full-time move from Northern California in 2016. “I prefer the heat to the cold,” John laughs. “I have always been captivated by our area’s architecture and natural landscapes. The desert’s healing vibe, striking colors, stunning mountains, and buoyant lifestyle make this a truly desirable place to live. As a result, I love exploring the outdoors and hiking. Photography is also a personal passion, and I like cooking, gardening, and reading.” John positions himself as a lifelong learner and an observer, qualities that drive his constant professional development and ability to enhance how he can serve his clients.
Beyond a strong desire to help others accomplish their real estate goals, John is deeply involved in giving back to the local community. From serving in a role on his community’s HOA board to contributing resources and time to causes such as environmental stewardship, promoting literacy, and AIDS awareness, John enjoys philanthropic endeavors and being a positive influence on movements and in the lives of others. “It is important to give back. When you are involved in your local community or in a cause, you are calling attention to ideas and movements others may not be aware of and adding to the life of that community,” John adds.
