CDAR YPN Looks to get Back to Basics With Jessica Blanchard at the Helm

Jessica Blanchard, a REALTOR® with the Indian Wells office of Bennion Deville Homes, will serve as the Chairperson for the California Desert Association of REALTORS® Young Professionals Network (CDAR YPN) for 2020. Jessica’s enthusiasm for the real estate industry and passion for connecting with other people, including her fellow real estate professionals, will guide her to success as she leaves her impression upon this key group within CDAR.

Jessica sees plenty of opportunities to enhance the CDAR YPN experience in 2020. Her focus is to get “back to the basics” and create more networking and educational opportunities for members, as well as a goal of increasing the membership base from agents who are new to the area. “I want to create opportunities for all of our members to meet face-to-face, grow their relationships with their fellow agents and our affiliates, and to foster personal growth and enrichment for everyone. Networking is crucial in our industry, so my focus for this year is to provide platforms to further those relationships and learn something in the process.” Additionally, she will represent the CDAR YPN at the state level in Sacramento and also participate in national YPN gatherings.

Planned events for the year include Wake with YPN, a coffee meeting designed to generate more interpersonal engagement, as well as some lunch events with an educational emphasis featuring presentations from lenders, tax professionals, and other affiliate experts. Other major event highlights for the year include a Top Producers Panel, which brings in the desert’s top 4 real estate agents so CDAR YPN members can hear firsthand how these agents have built successful businesses and what’s working in today’s market. In May, CDAR YPN will participate in the Gregg D. Spierling Memorial Golf Tournament put on by CDAR, and in November the popular City Planners meeting will take place, where CDAR YPN members can learn firsthand about upcoming projects and developments in key cities around the Coachella Valley.

Jessica joined CDAR YPN after she moved to the Coachella Valley from San Diego with her family in 2019. Being a new full-time resident, she joined the group to connect with her fellow real estate professionals and grow her network in the desert area. “I was familiar with YPN from my time in San Diego and I really enjoyed the experience,” Jessica says. “When we moved to the desert, I wanted to get involved in the community, so CDAR YPN was the perfect place for me to begin.” After joining CDAR YPN, Jessica was asked to be the Vice Chair of the group, a role that comes with becoming Chairperson the following year. “Becoming the Chair this year gives me the chance to push myself. I am always looking for new ways to grow as a person, so I like to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone to improve.”

After earning her real estate license in 2010, Jessica took some time off to raise her family. In 2015, she rejoined the industry full time, ready to build her business. “I was inspired to earn my real estate license after going through the homebuying experience myself. I loved the process, start to finish. Having the opportunity to help people advance in their lives is an incredible experience.” Jessica works with clients throughout the desert, specializing in the communities on the eastern end of the Coachella Valley, including the resort cities of La Quinta and Indio. In her personal time, she leads an active lifestyle with her family, and is “obsessed” with Orangetheory Fitness. Jessica and her husband devote one date night per month trying a new restaurant, a nice way to tour the world-class culinary treasures the desert offers and generate additional insight into the desert’s enviable lifestyle.
