Festival of the Bells 2018 Rings In Mission San Diego de Alcala’s 249th Anniversary

Festival of the Bells 2018 celebrates the 249^th anniversary of the founding of Mission San Diego de Alcala, known as the birthplace of California. Ringing in jubilation July 14^th and 15^th, the mission will commemorate its founding by Father Junipero Serra with food and craft vendors and host events over the course of the weekend, including live entertainment, fun zone, music, dancing, and more. For the only time during the year, all five Mission bells will ring out, including the original bell that dates back to 1802.
