Light Up Your Holidays with Coachella Valley Tree Lightings
Coachella Valley tree lightings take place throughout the desert communities in the coming weeks, kicking off what is another magical holiday season in the Greater Palm Springs Area. A few of our favorites are:
Palm Springs: Taking place Friday, November 30th at Frances Stevens Park from 5:15-7pm. Join Mayor Robert Moon, the Palm Springs City Council, and Santa Claus for the Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony featuring caroling, and free hot cocoa and cookies. Visit the event page on Facebook for more.
Also in Palm Springs and taking place on Sunday, December 2nd, catch the tree lighting ceremony at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. HGTV’s Desert Flippers hosts Eric and Lindsey Bennett will be flipping the switch on the tree at the Tram’s Mountain Station starting at 5:30pm. Check out the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway website for more details.
Desert Hot Springs: Set your calendar for Saturday, December 8th and join the City of Desert Hot Springs for a tree-lighting spectacular and holiday parade. The parade will kick off at 5:45pm, the first time it has ever been held at night, and will feature tons of floats, marching bands, and performers. Additionally, carnival rides, vendors, live music, and a visit from Santa Claus round out the lineup. Check out the City of Desert Hot Springs website for more details.
Cathedral City: Head to Cathedral City on Sunday, December 8th for the North Pole Village Snow-Fest and tree lighting ceremony. The event runs from 5-9pm in downtown Cathedral City, with the tree lighting taking place at 6pm sharp. More details can be found here.
Indian Wells: The Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa will be hosting a holiday party and tree lighting ceremony on Sunday, December 2nd. Head to the Renaissance for a tree lighting ceremony starting at 6pm, followed by tons of free stuff including complimentary hot chocolate, eggnog, pastries, and fun activities like a gingerbread house decorating contest, photo opportunities, and more. Head to the event page on Facebook for more information.
La Quinta: Join the City of La Quinta for its tree lighting ceremony at the La Quinta Civic Center on Saturday, December 7th from 6-8pm. In addition to the tree lighting, there will be live music and tons of fun. More information is available on the City of La Quinta website.
Indio: The City of Indio is lighting up their tree on Saturday, December 1st from 4:30-7pm at Indio City Hall. This event is free and open to the public and will include music and a visit from Santa Claus. Check out more information on the city’s website.
Regardless of the city you live in, we hope you have a chance to attend at least one of these magical events and get into the spirit of the holiday season.
