Hitting the big screen January 11^th through the 15^th at the Borrego Springs Performing Arts Center, the Borrego Springs Film Festival keeps the film industry spotlight on the Southern California desert following the Palm Springs International Film Festival. An up-and-coming film festival, the Borrego Springs Film Festival is popular in juried categories of documentary, narrative, short, animation, and Latino films. Long recognized as a haven for creative visionaries, Borrego Springs has become a popular destination for film makers and artists who seek the natural splendor of the Southern California desert as inspiration, or a backdrop, for their art.

The Borrego Springs Film Festival includes an opening night gala, film screenings, Q&A sessions, panel discussions, presentations of student-made films, and awards. The Borrego Festivals Foundation and a fleet of volunteers put on the film festival and organize the 5-day event, which draws attendees from around Southern California.
