Bennion Deville Homes finished 2020 with the #1 sales volume in the Coachella Valley, closing the year with $2.63 billion in sales. This is the 12th consecutive year the brokerage has paced the desert since it climbed to the top of the rankings in 2009. Looking ahead to 2021, the signs of a thriving market create optimism that demand for desert real estate will remain high for the foreseeable future.

Bennion Deville Homes closed out 2020 with an historic $2.63 billion in sales volume, enjoying a nearly 3-to-1 advantage over its closest competitor. Additionally, Bennion Deville Homes was tops in the luxury segment of the market. For residential transactions with a final sale price of $1 million and up, Bennion Deville Homes finished the year in excess of $772 million in sales volume, an advantage of more than $200 million over the next brokerage.

States Bob Deville, Co-Owner of Bennion Deville Homes, “We are very proud of our agents and staff for putting up a banner year in 2020 and keeping our standing as the number one brokerage in the desert. Considering the myriad challenges we all faced early on, the final 6 months were unlike any we have seen in our brokerage’s nearly 20-year history. The hard work and creative thinking by everyone within our organization allowed us to adapt to the market and enhance the quality of service and results that we can deliver for our clients. I congratulate our agents and staff on a job well done and look forward to continuing to set the gold standard for the industry in 2021 and beyond.”
Fueled by record-low inventory and extreme demand for the desert lifestyle, the Coachella Valley real estate market was one of the hottest in the nation last year. As more professionals were allowed to work remotely, the desert saw a surge in buyers coming from areas with high population densities seeking to live in a quieter locale that still has all of the essential amenities needed to live a high quality of life. The biggest sources of out-of-area buyers were traced back to key Southern California coastal drive markets such as Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego, as well as the Bay Area. This fervent demand for homes created a frenzy in the market, with many properties receiving multiple offers, some well over asking price, within hours of being put up for sale.
So far, 2021 is shaping up to be just as busy for real estate professionals around the Coachella Valley. The year-over-year numbers are amazing, and the supply of homes is not nearly enough to keep up with demand. As restrictions loosen around the state and country, the market may start to find more balance. Until that happens, though, the desert market is poised to continue its remarkable streak.
