Windermere Real Estate Southern California is hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission (CVRM) as their Community Service Day project for 2014. CVRM is a local organization dedicated to helping those in need by providing food, shelter, and clothing. All Windermere offices throughout the Coachella Valley are collecting non-perishable, non-refrigerated food items. The last day to donate is Sunday, November 23rd.

 

“We are honored to partner with the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission this year on their Thanksgiving Food Drive,” stated Charlie White, Managing Broker for the Indian Wells offices. “This is such a critical time of year for food donation supply levels. We want to make sure everyone has access to a quality meal around the holidays.”

 

Requested food items include canned goods, stuffing mix, turkey roasting bags and pans, instant potatoes, spices and dried herbs, bottled water, bottled juices and juice boxes, powdered drink mix, coffee and powdered coffee creamer, and brown and white sugar. Gift certificates to local grocery stores will also be accepted.

 

Every year, Windermere holds an office-wide Community Service Day, a day Windermere agents dedicate to working together on neighborhood improvement projects. Previous years have included cleaning, landscaping, painting, and light carpentry to benefit senior citizen centers, facilities for physically and mentally challenged children and adults, public schools’ equipment and playgrounds, low-income housing, and emergency shelters, among others. Since the first community service day in 1984, Windermere associates and staff have volunteered more than 350,000 hours of service to help improve our local communities.
