Welcome Home, Sue Hweamel
Sue Hweamel, REALTOR®, joins the Glendora office of Bennion Deville Homes, located at 118 N. Glendora Avenue in the beautiful downtown Glendora village. Sue earned her real estate license in 2005 and works with clients throughout Southern California, specializing in the San Gabriel Valley and Foothill communities. In addition to working with traditional buyers and sellers, Sue is an expert with short sale and R.E.O. transactions, as well as commercial real estate deals for small businesses.
Before she embarked upon a successful real estate career, Sue was a financial advisor. After receiving so many requests for advice about investing in real estate, and reinvesting proceeds from real estate transactions, Sue decided it was time to get her real estate sales license. “I had so many clients ask me about ways to best invest their money or who needed help taking care of the purchase that it was the logical next step in my career,” Sue says. “As a result, I am able to walk my clients through all of the financial benefits of real estate as an investment from my time in finance and experience in the industry.”
Real estate’s appeal is not all dollars and cents to Sue. She understands the emotional investment we make in our homes and finds inspiration in her clients. “I love seeing how people can change a home into something more, sometimes going from nothing and turning it into something spectacular. Watching this transformation is incredible, and helping my clients reap the rewards from their hard work and passion for making their house a home drives me to help them succeed every day.” Sue also enjoys seeing the personal transformation and sense of pride that comes with home ownership in her clients. “Offering new homes to families who go from renting to owning their own home fuels me. It is so rewarding to help others accomplish their goals.”
A big reason for Sue’s success is her personable approach to her clients and her consistent ability to get the job done successfully every time. “The keys to success in any business are consistency, sticking to basics, and staying educated. By staying up-to-date, I can arm myself and my clients with the best information out there. Educating people through the process is important. Additionally, I conduct my business in a very personal way. I like to send handwritten notes and have face-to-face meetings because creating a more intimate connection is critical to client relationships,” Sue continues.
When she isn’t working with clients, Sue can be found spending time with seniors at Mesa Glen Care Center in Glendora and brightening their day. “My mom had some health issues that put her in care facilities early in her life. After spending time there I found that many of our elderly were lonely, so I wanted to add a little sunshine to their day by just stopping by and visiting with them.” In addition to her regular visits, Sue organized a sweater drive to help keep everyone warm in the winter. Sue is also passionate about the Southern California lifestyle and is an avid hiker. “I want to be a good tour guide for my clients so I get out there and really live the California lifestyle. I love to check out the best restaurants and visit botanical gardens around Southern California.”
