Richard Franklin, REALTOR®, joins the Palm Desert San Pablo office of Bennion Deville Homes, located at 44-530 San Pablo Avenue, Suite 101. Richard works with clients throughout the Coachella Valley, specializing in the communities of La Quinta, Sun City Palm Desert, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, and Sun City Shadow Hills where he and his wife Kathy have been full-time residents since 2016. Richard relishes the opportunity to showcase the desert’s incredible quality of life to his clientele.

Prior to earning his real estate license, Richard built a successful software sales career at high technology companies such as General Electric and IBM, working with government agencies and titans of industry. His consultative approach, ability to pinpoint a client’s needs, and commitment to strong ethics throughout the sales process make him a truly outstanding professional with an impressive track record. “Whether in real estate or software sales, I always figure out what’s in my client’s head to see what’s motivating them so I can best meet their needs,” Richard says. “You have to understand their requirements and the goals they hope to achieve with the solution you are proposing. Listen first, ask questions, and become your client’s trusted advisor.”

Richard caught the real estate bug while working in the corporate world, which required frequent relocations. He often relied on the advice and input from real estate professionals to set his family up and create a smooth transition into their new home. “We moved around the country quite a bit, so I became very good at finding homes in new markets and working with real estate agents. I have always enjoyed the real estate process and was involved in every aspect of buying and selling our homes with each move. That experience in turn inspired me to earn my license so I can make an impact in the lives of others in the same manner. Every situation is unique, and I enjoy the challenge presented, from ‘the hunt’ through closing the deal successfully,” Richard adds.

Regardless of the industry, Richard understands the fundamental key to success in business: Earning his clients’ trust. “I strongly believe that everything I do with my clients is founded on ethics, integrity, honesty, working smart, and using a consultative sales approach that culminates in a ‘win-win’ situation for everyone. To achieve this, I work tirelessly to stay on top of the latest market information and industry trends so I may impart that knowledge to my clients. I also believe the customer is always number one and do all that I can to make sure that my clients know I put them above all other interests. Acting in an ethical fashion at all times is imperative to maintaining a strong, happy client base,” Richard continues.

Outside of his passion for homes, Richard enjoys giving back to the community and supports Wounded Warrior Project. “I grew up during the Vietnam era, served in the Air Force Reserves, and have close friends who are veterans. The cause of helping our nation’s heroes is near and dear to my heart,” Richard states. Richard is also actively researching his options for joining local chambers of commerce and Rotary International.
