Jenell VanDenBos continues to build a reputation as one of the top agents in the Coachella Valley.

Jenell VanDenBos, a LUXE Director and REALTOR® with the Indian Wells office of Bennion Deville Homes, continues to build a reputation as one of the desert’s top real estate professionals. Jenell brands herself as a Real Estate Investment Specialist, working with a broad spectrum of clients looking to serve their needs for today and tomorrow. Because of the wide range of clients she serves, Jenell sells property across the Coachella Valley. This approach to client service and drive to help others fuels her success in the business, and a reason why she is on the fast track to building a lasting legacy in the desert real estate industry.

The path to Jenell’s blossoming real estate career began in 2009 on the cusp of the market collapse. “Entering the industry at that time was actually the best thing that could have happened to me because everyone was on an even playing field figuring out how to navigate through the market,” Jenell says. “What worked up to that point was out the window, so we had to rise to the challenge of finding ways to help people. As a new agent, I was able to quickly learn and adapt.” She ultimately started working with a group of investors who were buying properties in all cash deals across the Coachella Valley. “I didn’t realize it at the time but falling into that network of investors is what helped me ascend early on in the business and set the foundation for my success today. Sometimes what seems like a small decision can have a huge impact on the future.”

As an industry veteran who is still rising in the local industry, Jenell enjoys her affiliation with Bennion Deville Homes and the support she receives from the company and her colleagues. “Hands down working with other Bennion Deville Homes agents and our broad network is huge for my clients and my business. We are all here to support each other and act as resources and sounding boards. From the marketing support we receive to the daily access to a non-competing Managing Broker, what we are provided by Bennion Deville Homes is unmatched and is crucial to our growth and our success as agents.” Jenell and her high-end clients also see real benefit from Bennion Deville Homes’ exclusive LUXE Collection and its affiliation with Luxury Portfolio International® and luxury marketing programs. “Meeting with our elite agents at LUXE meetings offers a treasure trove of experience, which gives me the confidence to elevate myself to the next level and be like them. Getting new ideas from all of these resources makes me a better agent for my clients, which in turn gets them better results.”

As time has gone on, Jenell has worked with clients on just about every price point possible in the desert, from vacant land to mobile homes to multi-million dollar and even waterfront properties. The reason for this wide band of clientele? “I look at myself as an investment property specialist, which means it is all about the client and what the investment in buying a home means to them now and down the road. How can I serve them today and in the future? My role as a real estate professional requires many hats, from expert negotiator to emotional supporter, so I do whatever it takes to make sure my clients feel like their needs are met, regardless of the price point of their home.” As a result of her commitment to each client’s long-term success, she has built an impressive reputation among her growing base of clientele, who feel that she will take care of them at present and in the future.

In addition to a sterling brand built on hard work and service, Jenell understands how to create and develop sound business strategies, and even more importantly, when to adjust her approach. “Having a sound game plan has been the key to my success. It takes discipline to stay focused each day, so having a road map to work from and to guide your actions on the day-to-day activities is instrumental. Just as critical, you have to be flexible, creative, and brave enough to change. The combination of discipline and flexibility allows me to shift quickly and adapt to what’s happening so I may continue to offer a relevant style of service to my clients and maintain the strategies that will ultimately deliver successful outcomes for them.” Jenell’s ability to shift dynamically and challenge herself has resulted in positive growth for her and her business.

Jenell's work at Shadow Lake Estates embodies her ability to see an opportunity in the present and polish it to create a brighter future.
Shadow Lake Estates is an example of Jenell’s ability to leverage creative ideas in the present to build something truly special long-term.

The perfect example of Jenell’s ethos of looking at opportunities in the present and forecasting the future vision is her work at the unrivaled Shadow Lake Estates community in Indio. Serving as a desert escape to several A-List celebrities, this luxury community is nestled at the base of the mountains and centers around a 45-acre manmade lake that accommodates watersports such as waterskiing, wakeboarding, and kayaking, in addition to fishing and more. “I earned the listing in 2010 as the market was tanking. Working closely with the developer, I was able to put Shadow Lake Estates on the map through creative marketing and a can-do work ethic. Now Shadow Lake Estates is one of the premier communities in the east valley and is recognized regionally, nationally, and internationally for its unique lifestyle.” Currently, Jenell has three lots and a waterfront estate listed for sale within Shadow Lake Estates, and has seen a spike in interest in recent months due to the location and lifestyle.

But Jenell’s vision for the east valley goes far beyond her impressive body of work at Shadow Lake Estates. “Between the marquee events such as Coachella and Stagecoach that have raised its star and the unique developments being planned, the eastern end of the Coachella Valley is quickly becoming the place to be in the desert. We have the perfect combination of buyers coming to purchase homes in active luxury lifestyle communities, such as Shadow Lake Estates; the Thermal Club, which features a world-class racetrack, and the new surf parks that are being planned in Thermal and La Quinta. In the very near future, you could go golfing in the morning, surf in the early afternoon, drive your race car mid-afternoon, and then cap off the day with sunset waterskiing at Shadow Lake Estates. There is nowhere else in the world that offers that combination of exciting opportunities. In addition, the desert has exceptional amenities, including outstanding medical facilities, entertainment that is second to none at venues such as The McCallum Theater, 5-star resorts, spas, and dining, and more.”

Outside of her real estate work, Jenell is committed to making the Coachella Valley an exceptional place to live. She is involved with Olive Crest, an organization dedicated to offering resources and services for abused and neglected children and their families. Jenell is also a docent at the Palm Springs Air Museum, which boasts the largest collection of World War II planes anywhere in the U.S., and served as a board member for 9 years on the Women’s Leadership Forum board, currently serving on an adjunct board. “I have always made staying active in the community a top priority. It is important to give back any way that I can to ensure I am doing my part to make our communities and neighborhoods a more positive place to live.” Additionally, Jenell and her husband, Rod, are set to move all manufacturing and production for their buzzbox mixed cocktails drink line to Indio. “We are making a strong commitment to the City of Indio and the surrounding communities by bringing the full production process here, including mixing and the Tetra Pak packaging process. Our product will say ‘Made in Indio’ on the package, which is a huge source of pride for us, and hopefully for the community as well.”

When she needs to unwind, Jenell seeks refuge and relaxation with her family in the great outdoors. “We love to go on hikes around the desert together as a way to spend time as a family. We also enjoy playing tennis and pickleball, and I look forward to perfecting my pickleball skills this upcoming season. The desert offers so many fun things to do but it is also just a short drive away from so many key destinations along the coast or in the mountains, or you can get on a flight at Palm Springs International Airport and go to many exciting places. If we want to get out of town, we enjoy getting out to the coast and being on the water.”

Focusing on making the best of today with an eye toward tomorrow, Jenell VanDenBos is a standout professional and the future of desert real estate. All she needs is to follow her road map.
