Bennion Deville Homes, the top real estate brokerage in the Greater Palm Springs area, recently announced it is strengthening its Palm Desert San Pablo office, located at 44-530 San Pablo Avenue, to fortify its presence in the market. All Palm Desert agents and staff are now headquartered in that location. The move gives Bennion Deville Homes a stronger platform and a central Palm Desert location to serve the local community.
“We are excited about the direction of the Palm Desert real estate market, and all of the markets across the Coachella Valley,” says Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “The creation of a central headquarters in Palm Desert from which to serve our clients allows Tish [Herwig, Managing Broker] and her team to continue to set the standard for real estate services in the area. We would like to thank our agents and staff for their hard work and diligence as we enhance our offerings and strategy, including brick and mortar. This year is already shaping up to be one of the best for real estate in recent memory, and we wish everyone a prosperous season in 2017 and beyond.”

The Bennion Deville Homes Indio office, located at 81-703 Highway 111, recently welcomed new Indio Police Chief Mike Washburn to an office meeting. Chief Washburn, who started his role in the Indio Police Department in September, addressed the Bennion Deville Homes agents and staff by highlighting his plans for the city’s police department, statistics showing a drop in local crime rates, how the department handles large music festivals, and more.
“We are honored Chief Washburn took time out of this schedule to meet with our group and cover his vision for enhancing the quality of life in our fine city,” says Managing Broker George Baca. “As the local lifestyle experts, it is nice to hear the big plans in person from someone who will be implementing them so that we may pass that information along to our clients. We would like to welcome Chief Washburn to Indio and look forward to working hand-in-hand with him and the Indio Police Department in the future.”
With bittersweet sentiment, Bennion Deville Homes announces Managing Broker Denise Anderson of the Palm Springs South office, located at 2465 E. Palm Canyon Drive, has retired. To celebrate Denise’s sparkling career, Bennion Deville Homes threw a surprise celebration party for her at one of the top restaurants in Palm Springs, Eight 4 Nine. The party was attended by hundreds of Bennion Deville Homes agents and affiliates, including Co-Founder Bob Deville and General Manager Chris Anderson.
“We are excited for Denise to take this next step in her life and enjoy the fruits of a very successful career,” says Bob Deville. “It has been an absolute pleasure working with her and, although we are sad to see her go, we are proud of all that she has accomplished with Bennion Deville Homes and want to extend a sincere thank you for her hard work, dedication, and ability to produce year in and year out for our brokerage. We wish her the best of luck in retirement.”
Taking her place as Managing Broker of the Palm Springs South office is Dean Foster, who is transferring from the Palm Desert San Pablo office. Tish Herwig is now Managing Broker for both the Palm Desert San Pablo and Palm Desert Portola offices.
Recently, Bennion Deville Homes agents and staff from across the Coachella Valley helped the Palm Springs Regional Association of REALTORS (PSRAR) raise money for critical organizations in the local community at the Harvest Auction event. The Harvest Auction, held each year the day before Thanksgiving, gives all proceeds to the Desert Escrow Scholarship fund, Sanctuary House, and the Boys & Girls Club valley wide. This year Harvest Auction raised over $11,000 based on an auction-style system, with everything from pies to festive displays up for sale to the highest bidder.
Bennion Deville Homes Managing Brokers Denise Anderson and David Cantwell have a time-honored tradition of making David’s late mom’s famed pecan and cranberry pie recipe every year. Denise and David invited fellow Bennion Deville Managing Broker Tish Herwig to join the team as the pastry chef creating beautiful homemade crusts for this year’s batch of baked goodies. The pies the trio cooked up auctioned at $110 each, with one of them being purchased by Palm Springs’ very own Mayor Robert Moon.
Bennion Deville Homes agent Tanner Voskamp from the Palm Springs South office sold a majority of the $200 gift basket raffle tickets, priced at $25 each. Bennion Deville Homes General Manager Chris Anderson was one lucky winner of a super basket, valued at over $400 in goodies. Bennion Deville agent Nancy Stienfeldt from the Palm Springs South office, coordinated and created all of the spectacular baskets donated by Bennion Deville Homes, winning “Most Creative.” The auctioneer for the event was Orange Coast Title’s Darlene Daniello.
“We are proud of the commitment our agents and staff put in to Harvest Auction each year,” adds Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “This a fun event benefitting exceptional causes and we look forward to participating each year. Being able to purchase a last-minute dessert item for Thanksgiving is an added bonus.”
Since 2008, Bennion Deville Homes has built a lasting, special bond with the 4th grade classes at Oasis Elementary School in Thermal. Every August, agents and staff from the La Quinta office, located at 47-250 Washington Street, visit these bright kids at the beginning of the school year to drop off school supplies and treats, starting a new cycle of what has become an annual tradition that all 4th graders at the school eagerly anticipate. This is the first of three visits throughout the year and establishes an immediate connection between the new students and the professionals at Bennion Deville Homes.
Recently, Managing Broker Sandy Beakey and Realtors® Candida Garcia, Susan Jacobs, Elaine Leib, Roger Sullivan, and Scott Woodard, as well as SoCal Direct Lending affiliate Ivy Scott, made the trip to introduce themselves to the kids and share in the joys of forming new friendships and positively affecting these youths’ lives. “We really enjoy the relationship that we have developed with Oasis Elementary School and the 4th grade classes,” Sandy emphasizes. “These kids are wonderful and truly appreciate everything we provide for them. We look forward to coming back throughout the course of the school year to give the students their seasonal gifts and to share in the exciting experience of coming of age.”
When the La Quinta offices began visiting Oasis Elementary School, it was located on a dirt road with scant resources and did not have working heating or air conditioning. Bennion Deville Homes agents learned that only one of the four 4th grade classes received outside support, so the offices rallied together to provide the other three classes and the special education students with the supplies they needed to complete the school year. Today, Oasis Elementary School has grown into a beautiful campus with an excellent faculty and staff, and, thanks in part to the generosity of donations from businesses and organizations like Bennion Deville Homes’ La Quinta offices, more resources for the kids to enjoy. In addition to the back-to-school trip, members of the La Quinta offices visit the kids in December to give the children toys and supplies, and then again at the end of the school year for some fun and games, as well as to donate books for summer reading.
“We are proud of what the La Quinta offices have created with Oasis Elementary School,” says Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “We truly enjoy giving back to our local community, and what Sandy and her offices have built with the kids and their families throughout the years is remarkable. We commend them for continuing with the annual tradition of bringing these kids much needed, and well deserved, supplies and goodies. We look forward to continuing our connection with Oasis Elementary and wish all of the students luck in the coming school year.”
Members and staff of the Bennion Deville Homes Palm Springs offices: Palm Springs Main, located at 850 North Palm Canyon Drive; Palm Springs Midtown, located at 1255 East Ramon Road; and Palm Springs South, located at 2465 East Palm Canyon Drive, Suite 605, recently participated in the Palm Springs Young Professional’s Network (YPN) charity bowling event, benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of Cathedral City, at Palm Springs Lanes in Cathedral City. All participants donated school supplies at the door, which resulted in a massive haul for the kids. Bennion Deville Homes sent two teams of four bowlers to represent at the event. Terry Murphy, Michele Barfuss, Steven Guidry, and Chris Smith were one team, and Guy Prehn, Skip Parsons, Will Cook, and Kathryn Tomasino comprised another.
Says Chris Anderson, General Manager of Bennion Deville Homes, “Great job to all of the Bennion Deville Homes agents who donated time, money or school supplies to make this event such a success. We are so grateful for our offices’ spirit and commitment to community service. There is nothing better than a brand new backpack and fresh supplies on the first day of school!”
Bennion Deville Homes, the leading real estate brokerage in the Coachella Valley, recently sponsored the Galen New Year’s Resolution 5K Color Run, benefitting the Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert. Participants from around the Coachella Valley gathered at the Faye Sarkowsky sculpture garden where, after stretching and hydrating, they were led through a 5-kilometer, or just over 3.1 miles, course of color – 5 color dustings in all, one for each kilometer completed. The race route started in the art museum parking lot and wound its way up the streets of Palm Desert behind the grounds, returning to the same starting point to complete the race circuit. Several Bennion Deville Homes agents and staff participated, and even medaled, in the event.
“We are proud to sponsor and participate in the Galen New Year’s Resolution 5K Color Run,” says Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “The art museum is an important piece of our local culture and has beautiful grounds to enjoy year-round. This event combines the creativity of color and artistic expression found within the museum with athletics to create a fun run for a great cause in a unique setting. Our Bennion Deville Homes family showed up in force for the event, and I commend everyone who took the time to participate. We look forward to taking part in many more events like this one for years to come.”
Recently, DesertSun.com, the website arm of the Coachella Valley’s main news publication Desert Sun, announced the winners of their 2016 “Best of the Valley” readers poll. Bennion Deville Homes was voted the top “Real Estate Firm,” while Realtor® Joe Woods took home the honors of “Best Realtor®.” In fall of 2015, Bennion Deville Homes LUXE Director Scott Histed was voted “Best Realtor®” in the publication’s “Ultimate Pride List,” completing the Triple Crown for Bennion Deville Homes. This is the second consecutive year that Bennion Deville Homes has been named “Best Real Estate Firm” by the Desert Sun readers. In addition, Scott placed second and LUXE Director Mark Gutkowski placed third in the “Best Realtor” category in the 2016 Best of the Valley voting behind Joe, giving Bennion Deville Homes the top three vote getters in the balloting.
“We are thrilled to have been voted as the Best Real Estate Company in the Coachella Valley for two years in a row, and to have two of our real estate professionals recognized for their hard work and dedication to their clients – congratulations Scott and Joe,” says Bennion Deville Homes Co-Founder Bob Deville. “2015 was a year of transformation for our great brokerage, and we are excited to know that the unveiling of our new name and brand has been well received within our industry and our clients. The general public understood this was a change in name only, and the exceptional service, polished real estate professionals, convenient locations, and exclusive marketing programs and partnerships remain the same. Thank you to everyone who participated in the voting – we appreciate your support and look forward to continuing our relationships with you in 2016 and beyond.”
In 2015, we broke records, broke independent, and broke through to even more clients, helping people successfully accomplish their real estate, and lifestyle, goals. We look forward to continuing to work with you in 2016 and beyond, and are grateful for our amazing agents, clients, and staff who have made every year since 2001 the best year yet! Here’s to a prosperous, healthy, and successful 2016, from our family to yours.
2015 was a year of great change for Bennion Deville Homes, which declared its independence from its previous franchisor earlier this year. However, name change aside, everything else is still exactly the same. The same agents, same offices, and same incredible commitments to service standards and integrity remain true. There was much to celebrate for the holidays this year, and the festivities were merry and widespread as three separate holiday parties were hosted from sand to sea.
Orange County kicked off the holiday party season with a festive Italian feast at Mangia Bene Cucina in Laguna Niguel. Agents from all over Orange County, and a few who made it out from the Coachella Valley, were treated to delightful fare, friends, and fun.
The Greater Palm Springs area party, hosted at the Palm Springs Air Museum, took fun to a whole new altitude, with a party inside the main hangar at the museum. Delectable dinner, drinks, and dancing, egged on by a brilliant live band, made the night one to remember for years to come. Agents from the Coachella Valley and the coast were treated and toasted for their hard work, loyalty, and success over the course of the year, with a rousing speech by Bennion Deville Co-Founders Bob Bennion and Bob Deville. Photos can be viewed here.
San Diego capped off the holiday magic with a cozy party in the posh rec room of Vantage Pointe, a Downtown San Diego luxury high rise. Patrons were serenaded with the sweet melodies of a live pianist hammering out classic holiday hits mixed with contemporary cuts, all while enjoy lively conversation, cocktails, and a scrumptious buffet including a carving station featuring savory ham. A photographer snapped shots of party-goers donning the finest of holiday accessories, including Santa hats, reindeer antlers, and more. Photos can be viewed and downloaded here.
“Thank you to all who were able to attend our holiday parties this year, and we hope to see those who couldn’t attend at next year’s festivities,” says Bob Deville. “Each had its own special touch that was made extra memorable by the camaraderie that we all share. Each of our agents and staff is a member of our growing family, and we relish the time out of our busy schedules to get together and revel in the successes of the past year. Bob and I are incredibly lucky to have the team that we do, and would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season.”
