The Bennion Deville Homes Palm Desert San Pablo office, located at 44-530 San Pablo Avenue, recently threw a “Taco Tuesday” fiesta at Las Casuelas Nuevas in Rancho Mirage. The merry occasion was held to celebrate the merging of the Palm Desert offices into the location on San Pablo Avenue, and featured a full spread of authentic Mexican cuisine and beverages.
“We wanted to say ‘thank you’ to our agents and staff for their continued support during the office merge,” says Managing Broker Tish Herwig. “The process was incredibly smooth thanks to the positive energy and excitement surrounding the idea of enhancing our presence in the Palm Desert market by combining forces. The fiesta was a huge success, and a nice way to keep the positive momentum and culture rolling.”
Adds Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes, “Tish and her team threw one heck of a party, and did an even better job coming together to create what is sure to become one of the strongest offices in the Coachella Valley. We are encouraged by the market and look forward to making 2017 an incredible year.”

Bennion Deville Homes offices through the Coachella Valley did their part to brighten the spirits of their fellow residents this holiday season. From canned food drives to toy drives, Bennion Deville Homes agents from Palm Springs to Indio helped ensure that everyone in their communities had access to a delicious meal and all kids were able to receive a new toy under the Christmas tree.
“We are proud of our offices for organizing wildly successful donation campaigns, whether it be canned goods or toys,” says Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “Our agents, staff, and clients did an outstanding job giving to those in need this holiday season. We would like to thank everyone who donated and to our community partners for helping us make this an exceptional year for food and toy donations. This time of year offers a reminder to pause and reflect on what’s truly important. Giving to others and holding out a helping hand is always in season, even beyond the holidays.”
Indio Office Toys For Tots Drive
The Bennion Deville Homes Indio office, located at 81-703 Highway 111, held their annual Toys For Tots drive. Bennion Deville Homes agents placed their collection bins throughout Indio, La Quinta, Rancho Mirage, and Palm Desert to help champion the cause. In all, the office donated 30 full boxes worth of brand new, unwrapped toys to the Marines at 29 Palms. The toys stay in the Riverside County area, with most of the toys going to local families in the Coachella Valley.
“The toy drive has become an annual tradition at our office and something that agents, staff, and clients look forward to participating in each year,” says Managing Broker George Baca. “I am proud of our agents for stepping up and doing everything they can do make sure local kids have a new toy to open under their tree. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to our toy drive and to the Marines at 29 Palms for being the conduit to lighting up children’s faces each Christmas morning.”
Food and Toy Drives Benefitting Coachella Valley Rescue Mission
Bennion Deville Homes offices throughout the Coachella Valley also banded together to collect non-perishable, canned goods and new, unwrapped toys for the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, a local organization that plays a pivotal role in helping the less fortunate in our community. In all, each Bennion Deville Homes office contributed at least 3 full donation bins of food to the cause and collected over a dozen boxes of toys.
“The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission plays a critical role in serving our friends and neighbors who need a little extra help from time to time,” says Managing Broker Dean Foster. “Our agents and staff are happy to help restock their shelves for the holiday season and beyond, to ensure everyone in our community can get their share of food and a new toy for their children.”
Well in the Desert Food and Toy Drives
The Bennion Deville Homes Palm Springs Main office, located at 850 North Palm Canyon Drive, participated in food and toy drives benefitting Well in the Desert, a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing a variety of support programs and assistance through advocacy for those affected by poverty. Overall, the Palm Springs Main office raised 3 boxes of food and donated over 100 toys, just in time for Christmas.
“It is important that we recognize the work Well in the Desert does for our community,” says Managing Broker David Cantwell. “The services they provide, including serving hot meals daily to those who are living below the poverty line, are a godsend to many in our community. We are honored to help spread a little cheer this holiday season and ensure that we keep their offerings plentiful. Thank you to all who donated, every bit helps.”
Bennion Deville Homes offices throughout Southern California aren’t necessarily dashing through the snow this time of year, however, they made spirits bright with office parties throughout the Coachella Valley, San Diego, and Orange County. From festive potlucks filled with delicious dishes, to elegant sit-down dinners and cocktail parties, Bennion Deville Homes agents got into the swing of the holiday season.
In the desert, Indian Wells, Palm Desert, and Rancho Mirage held bountiful potluck lunches for their teams. From homemade, savory sides to decadent desserts, the agents and staff members showed off their culinary skills, all in the name of having some holiday fun. The Indio office held their party at an agent’s home, where everyone in attendance was treated to a delectable home-cooked meal. The Palm Springs offices threw a shindig fit for the town by hosting a lively cocktail party at the freshly minted West Elm House, featuring a live jazz band and succulent hors d’oeuvres.
Orange County agents and staff gathered at a popular Laguna Niguel Italian restaurant to break bread and toast to another successful year. The night featured exquisite Italian cuisine and a hearty amount of laughter and fun. In San Diego, all offices converged in a swanky downtown mid-rise for a hosted cocktail party, featuring a full spread of ham and sides to go with live music and festive fun. It was the perfect setting to unwind and for agents and staff to spend some quality time away from the office.
“We enjoy taking extra time around the holidays to gather as a family and enjoy a nice meal and each other’s company,” says Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “Our offices work hard throughout the year and build a camaraderie, which is further strengthened by relaxing and socializing together. From agents to staff, that bonding is critical to establishing the types of relationships that drive success. We wish everyone a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season and look forward to celebrating even more in 2017.”
The Bennion Deville Homes Indio office, located at 81-703 Highway 111, recently welcomed new Indio Police Chief Mike Washburn to an office meeting. Chief Washburn, who started his role in the Indio Police Department in September, addressed the Bennion Deville Homes agents and staff by highlighting his plans for the city’s police department, statistics showing a drop in local crime rates, how the department handles large music festivals, and more.
“We are honored Chief Washburn took time out of this schedule to meet with our group and cover his vision for enhancing the quality of life in our fine city,” says Managing Broker George Baca. “As the local lifestyle experts, it is nice to hear the big plans in person from someone who will be implementing them so that we may pass that information along to our clients. We would like to welcome Chief Washburn to Indio and look forward to working hand-in-hand with him and the Indio Police Department in the future.”
With bittersweet sentiment, Bennion Deville Homes announces Managing Broker Denise Anderson of the Palm Springs South office, located at 2465 E. Palm Canyon Drive, has retired. To celebrate Denise’s sparkling career, Bennion Deville Homes threw a surprise celebration party for her at one of the top restaurants in Palm Springs, Eight 4 Nine. The party was attended by hundreds of Bennion Deville Homes agents and affiliates, including Co-Founder Bob Deville and General Manager Chris Anderson.
“We are excited for Denise to take this next step in her life and enjoy the fruits of a very successful career,” says Bob Deville. “It has been an absolute pleasure working with her and, although we are sad to see her go, we are proud of all that she has accomplished with Bennion Deville Homes and want to extend a sincere thank you for her hard work, dedication, and ability to produce year in and year out for our brokerage. We wish her the best of luck in retirement.”
Taking her place as Managing Broker of the Palm Springs South office is Dean Foster, who is transferring from the Palm Desert San Pablo office. Tish Herwig is now Managing Broker for both the Palm Desert San Pablo and Palm Desert Portola offices.
Recently, Bennion Deville Homes agents and staff from across the Coachella Valley helped the Palm Springs Regional Association of REALTORS (PSRAR) raise money for critical organizations in the local community at the Harvest Auction event. The Harvest Auction, held each year the day before Thanksgiving, gives all proceeds to the Desert Escrow Scholarship fund, Sanctuary House, and the Boys & Girls Club valley wide. This year Harvest Auction raised over $11,000 based on an auction-style system, with everything from pies to festive displays up for sale to the highest bidder.
Bennion Deville Homes Managing Brokers Denise Anderson and David Cantwell have a time-honored tradition of making David’s late mom’s famed pecan and cranberry pie recipe every year. Denise and David invited fellow Bennion Deville Managing Broker Tish Herwig to join the team as the pastry chef creating beautiful homemade crusts for this year’s batch of baked goodies. The pies the trio cooked up auctioned at $110 each, with one of them being purchased by Palm Springs’ very own Mayor Robert Moon.
Bennion Deville Homes agent Tanner Voskamp from the Palm Springs South office sold a majority of the $200 gift basket raffle tickets, priced at $25 each. Bennion Deville Homes General Manager Chris Anderson was one lucky winner of a super basket, valued at over $400 in goodies. Bennion Deville agent Nancy Stienfeldt from the Palm Springs South office, coordinated and created all of the spectacular baskets donated by Bennion Deville Homes, winning “Most Creative.” The auctioneer for the event was Orange Coast Title’s Darlene Daniello.
“We are proud of the commitment our agents and staff put in to Harvest Auction each year,” adds Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “This a fun event benefitting exceptional causes and we look forward to participating each year. Being able to purchase a last-minute dessert item for Thanksgiving is an added bonus.”
Recently, Bennion Deville Homes celebrated its first year as a brand by holding a birthday party for its agents and staff. Founders Bob Bennion and Bob Deville gave a keynote presentation sharing the positive growth the brokerage experienced over the last 12 months. Following presentations on technology and marketing updates by key staff members, professional motivational magician Lou Serrano performed for the massive crowd, entertaining with comedy, a thought-provoking speech, and of course magic tricks. After the magic show, which involved several members of the audience, a Bennion Deville Homes birthday video debuted, highlighting Bennion Deville Homes agents’ experiences over the course of the last year. To cap off the event, massive cake-sized cupcakes were served, adorned in Bennion Deville Homes blue.
“We had an exceptional turnout from our agents and staff to help us celebrate one year under the Bennion Deville Homes banner,” states Bob Deville. “The energy and buzz surrounding our continued dominance throughout Southern California is real, and you could feel the electricity in the room as we ran through our positive, sustained growth. We would like to thank everyone for attending and sharing in the day, and for making our first year as Bennion Deville Homes the best one in our company’s fifteen-year history.”
Recently, Bennion Deville Homes REALTOR John Moes, based out of the Encinitas office located at 258 North El Camino Real Suite C, represented his brokerage in the North San Diego County Association of REALTORS (NSDCAR) Chili Cook-Off. This spicy soiree was held at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, and featured over 25 chili contest entries, as well as 10 salsa and 8 guacamole entries, for a friendly competition to see who was the best of the bunch.
John’s entry into the competition was his wife’s famous recipe, a sweet and smoky blend that tantalizes the tongue and leaves a savory, satisfying flavor on the palate. John’s best tip for concocting the perfect pot of chili – let it simmer a long time and then cool overnight. “The flavors really come out when reheated.”
“This was such a fun event,” states John. “It felt good to represent Bennion Deville Homes and I had solid support from several Bennion Deville Homes agents and staff members, which made it really fun. We didn’t win, but it was well-worth the effort. We met a lot of new people and shared a few laughs over the course of the evening.”
“John did an excellent job representing us at the NSDCAR Chili Cook-Off,” adds Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “We are proud of his efforts, and also of the amount of support he received from his fellow agents and staff. We look forward to cheering him on in future events.”
Since 2008, Bennion Deville Homes has built a lasting, special bond with the 4th grade classes at Oasis Elementary School in Thermal. Every August, agents and staff from the La Quinta office, located at 47-250 Washington Street, visit these bright kids at the beginning of the school year to drop off school supplies and treats, starting a new cycle of what has become an annual tradition that all 4th graders at the school eagerly anticipate. This is the first of three visits throughout the year and establishes an immediate connection between the new students and the professionals at Bennion Deville Homes.
Recently, Managing Broker Sandy Beakey and Realtors® Candida Garcia, Susan Jacobs, Elaine Leib, Roger Sullivan, and Scott Woodard, as well as SoCal Direct Lending affiliate Ivy Scott, made the trip to introduce themselves to the kids and share in the joys of forming new friendships and positively affecting these youths’ lives. “We really enjoy the relationship that we have developed with Oasis Elementary School and the 4th grade classes,” Sandy emphasizes. “These kids are wonderful and truly appreciate everything we provide for them. We look forward to coming back throughout the course of the school year to give the students their seasonal gifts and to share in the exciting experience of coming of age.”
When the La Quinta offices began visiting Oasis Elementary School, it was located on a dirt road with scant resources and did not have working heating or air conditioning. Bennion Deville Homes agents learned that only one of the four 4th grade classes received outside support, so the offices rallied together to provide the other three classes and the special education students with the supplies they needed to complete the school year. Today, Oasis Elementary School has grown into a beautiful campus with an excellent faculty and staff, and, thanks in part to the generosity of donations from businesses and organizations like Bennion Deville Homes’ La Quinta offices, more resources for the kids to enjoy. In addition to the back-to-school trip, members of the La Quinta offices visit the kids in December to give the children toys and supplies, and then again at the end of the school year for some fun and games, as well as to donate books for summer reading.
“We are proud of what the La Quinta offices have created with Oasis Elementary School,” says Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “We truly enjoy giving back to our local community, and what Sandy and her offices have built with the kids and their families throughout the years is remarkable. We commend them for continuing with the annual tradition of bringing these kids much needed, and well deserved, supplies and goodies. We look forward to continuing our connection with Oasis Elementary and wish all of the students luck in the coming school year.”
Members and staff of the Bennion Deville Homes Palm Springs offices: Palm Springs Main, located at 850 North Palm Canyon Drive; Palm Springs Midtown, located at 1255 East Ramon Road; and Palm Springs South, located at 2465 East Palm Canyon Drive, Suite 605, recently participated in the Palm Springs Young Professional’s Network (YPN) charity bowling event, benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of Cathedral City, at Palm Springs Lanes in Cathedral City. All participants donated school supplies at the door, which resulted in a massive haul for the kids. Bennion Deville Homes sent two teams of four bowlers to represent at the event. Terry Murphy, Michele Barfuss, Steven Guidry, and Chris Smith were one team, and Guy Prehn, Skip Parsons, Will Cook, and Kathryn Tomasino comprised another.
Says Chris Anderson, General Manager of Bennion Deville Homes, “Great job to all of the Bennion Deville Homes agents who donated time, money or school supplies to make this event such a success. We are so grateful for our offices’ spirit and commitment to community service. There is nothing better than a brand new backpack and fresh supplies on the first day of school!”
