Bennion Deville Homes offices through the Coachella Valley did their part to brighten the spirits of their fellow residents this holiday season. From canned food drives to toy drives, Bennion Deville Homes agents from Palm Springs to Indio helped ensure that everyone in their communities had access to a delicious meal and all kids were able to receive a new toy under the Christmas tree.
“We are proud of our offices for organizing wildly successful donation campaigns, whether it be canned goods or toys,” says Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “Our agents, staff, and clients did an outstanding job giving to those in need this holiday season. We would like to thank everyone who donated and to our community partners for helping us make this an exceptional year for food and toy donations. This time of year offers a reminder to pause and reflect on what’s truly important. Giving to others and holding out a helping hand is always in season, even beyond the holidays.”
Indio Office Toys For Tots Drive
The Bennion Deville Homes Indio office, located at 81-703 Highway 111, held their annual Toys For Tots drive. Bennion Deville Homes agents placed their collection bins throughout Indio, La Quinta, Rancho Mirage, and Palm Desert to help champion the cause. In all, the office donated 30 full boxes worth of brand new, unwrapped toys to the Marines at 29 Palms. The toys stay in the Riverside County area, with most of the toys going to local families in the Coachella Valley.
“The toy drive has become an annual tradition at our office and something that agents, staff, and clients look forward to participating in each year,” says Managing Broker George Baca. “I am proud of our agents for stepping up and doing everything they can do make sure local kids have a new toy to open under their tree. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to our toy drive and to the Marines at 29 Palms for being the conduit to lighting up children’s faces each Christmas morning.”
Food and Toy Drives Benefitting Coachella Valley Rescue Mission
Bennion Deville Homes offices throughout the Coachella Valley also banded together to collect non-perishable, canned goods and new, unwrapped toys for the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, a local organization that plays a pivotal role in helping the less fortunate in our community. In all, each Bennion Deville Homes office contributed at least 3 full donation bins of food to the cause and collected over a dozen boxes of toys.
“The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission plays a critical role in serving our friends and neighbors who need a little extra help from time to time,” says Managing Broker Dean Foster. “Our agents and staff are happy to help restock their shelves for the holiday season and beyond, to ensure everyone in our community can get their share of food and a new toy for their children.”
Well in the Desert Food and Toy Drives
The Bennion Deville Homes Palm Springs Main office, located at 850 North Palm Canyon Drive, participated in food and toy drives benefitting Well in the Desert, a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing a variety of support programs and assistance through advocacy for those affected by poverty. Overall, the Palm Springs Main office raised 3 boxes of food and donated over 100 toys, just in time for Christmas.
“It is important that we recognize the work Well in the Desert does for our community,” says Managing Broker David Cantwell. “The services they provide, including serving hot meals daily to those who are living below the poverty line, are a godsend to many in our community. We are honored to help spread a little cheer this holiday season and ensure that we keep their offerings plentiful. Thank you to all who donated, every bit helps.”
Recently, Bennion Deville Homes agents and staff from across the Coachella Valley helped the Palm Springs Regional Association of REALTORS (PSRAR) raise money for critical organizations in the local community at the Harvest Auction event. The Harvest Auction, held each year the day before Thanksgiving, gives all proceeds to the Desert Escrow Scholarship fund, Sanctuary House, and the Boys & Girls Club valley wide. This year Harvest Auction raised over $11,000 based on an auction-style system, with everything from pies to festive displays up for sale to the highest bidder.
Bennion Deville Homes Managing Brokers Denise Anderson and David Cantwell have a time-honored tradition of making David’s late mom’s famed pecan and cranberry pie recipe every year. Denise and David invited fellow Bennion Deville Managing Broker Tish Herwig to join the team as the pastry chef creating beautiful homemade crusts for this year’s batch of baked goodies. The pies the trio cooked up auctioned at $110 each, with one of them being purchased by Palm Springs’ very own Mayor Robert Moon.
Bennion Deville Homes agent Tanner Voskamp from the Palm Springs South office sold a majority of the $200 gift basket raffle tickets, priced at $25 each. Bennion Deville Homes General Manager Chris Anderson was one lucky winner of a super basket, valued at over $400 in goodies. Bennion Deville agent Nancy Stienfeldt from the Palm Springs South office, coordinated and created all of the spectacular baskets donated by Bennion Deville Homes, winning “Most Creative.” The auctioneer for the event was Orange Coast Title’s Darlene Daniello.
“We are proud of the commitment our agents and staff put in to Harvest Auction each year,” adds Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “This a fun event benefitting exceptional causes and we look forward to participating each year. Being able to purchase a last-minute dessert item for Thanksgiving is an added bonus.”
Bennion Deville Homes is proud to once again partner with the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission (CVRM) and Well in the Desert in an effort to ensure all residents of the Greater Palm Springs Area have access to a warm meal this holiday season, and beyond. From November 3rd through November 14th, Bennion Deville Homes offices throughout the valley will be accepting non-perishable canned and dry goods, as well as gift cards to local grocery stores, to fill the shelves for the big Thanksgiving meal push. According to estimates from CVRM and Well in the Desert, each donation box holds enough food to feed 10 people for a week.
“We are excited to work with CVRM and Well in the Desert again this year in a joint effort to make sure all residents of the Coachella Valley can stock their pantries for the holidays, as well as the rest of the year,” says Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “Last year we filled over 20 donation boxes, which helped feed over 200 people for a week. We want to do even better this year and are encouraging all of our agents, staff, affiliates, clients, friends, family, and the general public to help us in this noble cause by bringing non-perishable goods or gift cards to any of our 17 office locations throughout the Coachella Valley. Well in the Desert and CVRM do so much for those in need in our community, and we want to do our part to give back to two organizations that help so many.”

Since 2008, Bennion Deville Homes has built a lasting, special bond with the 4th grade classes at Oasis Elementary School in Thermal. Every August, agents and staff from the La Quinta office, located at 47-250 Washington Street, visit these bright kids at the beginning of the school year to drop off school supplies and treats, starting a new cycle of what has become an annual tradition that all 4th graders at the school eagerly anticipate. This is the first of three visits throughout the year and establishes an immediate connection between the new students and the professionals at Bennion Deville Homes.
Recently, Managing Broker Sandy Beakey and Realtors® Candida Garcia, Susan Jacobs, Elaine Leib, Roger Sullivan, and Scott Woodard, as well as SoCal Direct Lending affiliate Ivy Scott, made the trip to introduce themselves to the kids and share in the joys of forming new friendships and positively affecting these youths’ lives. “We really enjoy the relationship that we have developed with Oasis Elementary School and the 4th grade classes,” Sandy emphasizes. “These kids are wonderful and truly appreciate everything we provide for them. We look forward to coming back throughout the course of the school year to give the students their seasonal gifts and to share in the exciting experience of coming of age.”
When the La Quinta offices began visiting Oasis Elementary School, it was located on a dirt road with scant resources and did not have working heating or air conditioning. Bennion Deville Homes agents learned that only one of the four 4th grade classes received outside support, so the offices rallied together to provide the other three classes and the special education students with the supplies they needed to complete the school year. Today, Oasis Elementary School has grown into a beautiful campus with an excellent faculty and staff, and, thanks in part to the generosity of donations from businesses and organizations like Bennion Deville Homes’ La Quinta offices, more resources for the kids to enjoy. In addition to the back-to-school trip, members of the La Quinta offices visit the kids in December to give the children toys and supplies, and then again at the end of the school year for some fun and games, as well as to donate books for summer reading.
“We are proud of what the La Quinta offices have created with Oasis Elementary School,” says Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “We truly enjoy giving back to our local community, and what Sandy and her offices have built with the kids and their families throughout the years is remarkable. We commend them for continuing with the annual tradition of bringing these kids much needed, and well deserved, supplies and goodies. We look forward to continuing our connection with Oasis Elementary and wish all of the students luck in the coming school year.”
Members and staff of the Bennion Deville Homes Palm Springs offices: Palm Springs Main, located at 850 North Palm Canyon Drive; Palm Springs Midtown, located at 1255 East Ramon Road; and Palm Springs South, located at 2465 East Palm Canyon Drive, Suite 605, recently participated in the Palm Springs Young Professional’s Network (YPN) charity bowling event, benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of Cathedral City, at Palm Springs Lanes in Cathedral City. All participants donated school supplies at the door, which resulted in a massive haul for the kids. Bennion Deville Homes sent two teams of four bowlers to represent at the event. Terry Murphy, Michele Barfuss, Steven Guidry, and Chris Smith were one team, and Guy Prehn, Skip Parsons, Will Cook, and Kathryn Tomasino comprised another.
Says Chris Anderson, General Manager of Bennion Deville Homes, “Great job to all of the Bennion Deville Homes agents who donated time, money or school supplies to make this event such a success. We are so grateful for our offices’ spirit and commitment to community service. There is nothing better than a brand new backpack and fresh supplies on the first day of school!”
The results of the Palm Springs Regional Association of Realtors (PSRAR) Food Drive, benefitting Well in the Desert, were recently tallied. Bennion Deville Homes Palm Springs South office took second and Palm Springs Main placed third in the food drive. Overall, the members of PSRAR collected 33,198 pounds of food and raised over $10,000 in cash donations. Of those totals, Bennion Deville Homes offices contributed 13,294 pounds of food and $6,330 in cash donations. The Palm Springs South office also took home the “Heart of the Food Drive” award. In total, Bennion Deville Homes was responsible for over 40% of the food collected and 60% of the cash raised.
“We are immensely proud of all members of the PSRAR for the exceptional fundraising efforts,” says Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “The generosity of our agents, clients, and friends and neighbors allowed this event to be such a huge success. At the end of the day, Well in the Desert will be well-stocked for the remaining summer months, and we are happy to have contributed to the cause. Congratulations to all on another banner year, we look forward to the friendly competition again next year.”
Bennion Deville Homes is participating in the Palm Springs Regional Association of Realtors® (PSRAR) food drive by collecting non-perishable food items and money at select offices throughout the Coachella Valley. All donations benefit Well in the Desert, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing those in need with daily access to healthy and nutritious food. The food drive runs from June 15th to July 15th. Participating Bennion Deville Homes offices include:
“We would like to encourage all of our agents, staff, and clients to participate to the fullest extent that they can to help the PSRAR achieve their fundraising goals,” states Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “The services that Well in the Desert provide are essential to our community and help many of our friends, neighbors, and families. Many of these supply stores run low in the summer months, so this event is a critical component to re-stocking the shelves and keeping the supplies flowing. We are happy to help in any way that we can and wish all participating brokerages good luck in their fundraising efforts.”
Bennion Deville Homes was a Platinum sponsor of the second annual Gregg D. Spierling Memorial Golf Tournament, put on by the California Desert Association of Realtors (CDAR) at Heritage Palms Golf Club in Indio. The Coachella Valley’s leading real estate brokerage also sent a competitive team, comprised of Bob Waago, Diane McMillan, Glenn Adam, and Vickki Schlappi, to put their skills to the test on the links. The team’s combined score of gross 60 and net 52, was just a few strokes off of the winning pace, and each member enjoyed the experience and admirably represented Bennion Deville Homes.
Diane McMillan and Vickki Schlappi were approached by Managing Broker Denise Anderson, who knew both women were avid golfers. The fact that Diane was an LPGA teaching member for 10 years could have also helped push an invitation to play Diane’s way. “It was really fun and I enjoyed meeting and golfing with Bob and Glenn. The course was in great condition and the tournament had a nice turnout with over 100 players and a sponsor at every hole. Vickki and I were pleased to represent Bennion Deville Homes and hope to play in a tournament again soon.”
Adds Bob, “George [Baca, Managing Broker] called me to extend the invite to play. I was very honored to represent Bennion Deville Homes and play with Diane, Vickki, and Glenn. The sponsor booths were great and had lots of snacks, giveaways, and food and beverage. It was nice to see the tournament fill up and for everyone to enjoy a day of golf.”
Continues Glenn, “Many thanks to Bennion Deville Homes for sponsoring such a great golf tournament. Gregg Spierling was such a great guy and his wife was there to help promote the tournament’s charity. Diane and Vickki carried our team all day, and it was a ton of fun to get out and play golf with my colleagues. I look forward to the next one.”
Says Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes, “We are proud to sponsor the Gregg D. Spierling Memorial Golf Tournament. Our team played very well and, even better, represented our brokerage in the best way possible with exceptional sportsmanship, camaraderie, and professionalism. Congratulations to Diane, Vickki, Glenn, and Bob on a job well done and an excellent score.”
The Indio office of Bennion Deville Homes, located at 81-703 Highway 111, recently wrapped up its Toys For Tots holiday toy drive by donating over 23 boxes of full collection bins to the Marines at 29 Palms. The toys will stay in the local Riverside County area, with most going to needy families in the Coachella Valley. The toy drive has become an annual tradition at the Indio office and something that agents, staff, and clients look forward to participating in each year.
“We are proud of George [Baca, Managing Broker] and his team for organizing a wildly successful toy drive each year,” says Bob Deville, Co-Founder of Bennion Deville Homes. “The community bands together to support our office in the cause, with many bins going to local restaurants, country clubs, and businesses. We would like to thank everyone who donated to the toy drive and to our community partners for helping us make each year a banner year for toy donations. This time of year is a great reminder to pause and reflect on what’s truly important. Giving to others and holding out a helping hand is always in season, even beyond the holidays.”
