Bennion Deville Homes is proud to welcome REALTOR® Stacy Dover to the Glendora office, located at 118 North Glendora Avenue in the charming downtown village. Stacy is a native of Glendora and earned her real estate license in 2006. She serves the San Gabriel Valley and Foothill Cities, working with clients from Pasadena to Rancho Cucamonga and specializing in the communities of Glendora, La Verne, and San Dimas.

Prior to earning her real estate license, Stacy worked in marketing and promotions for local restaurants and businesses. In 2005 she was recruited to work for a large real estate team, which opened up her eyes to possibilities within real estate. “I love the connection you make with your clients in real estate,” Stacy says. “Working intimately with others and getting to know them goes beyond my experience in the other industries. Understanding and relaying the value of a home and all it represents, and handling that precious piece of someone’s life is truly special.”

Helping people is Stacy’s passion, and her favorite piece of each real estate transaction. “I love the process of getting to know my clients, hearing their stories, and successfully guiding them through what is usually the biggest financial decision of their lives. In addition to her own solid reputation within Glendora, Stacy’s family ties to the local area run deep. Her great-grandparents started a family business building and selling homes in Glendora in the 1930’s, a business her grandparents ran through the 1960’s. “Real estate is in my family’s genes, I suppose,” Stacy laughs. “Knowing I am continuing the family legacy is a fun thought and something I am proud of both personally and professionally.”

Helping others goes beyond the scope of Stacy’s career and flows into her personal life. She is heavily involved in giving back to schools and education by serving on the local PTA Board, and volunteers her time at church helping her fellow members of the congregation. “I strongly believe you build a strong community by building a network of support. Education is incredibly important for establishing a bright future, and I want to do all I can to ensure my children and the children of our community have access to the best educational resources possible,” she adds.

Agents and staff of the Bennion Deville Homes Palm Desert San Pablo office celebrated with REALTOR Ahu Kocaballi, who recently became a United States citizen.

Wednesday, April 19, 2017 was a momentous day for Ahu Kocaballi of Bennion Deville Homes’ Palm Desert San Pablo office. She and her husband officially became United States citizens after moving to the country from Turkey, Ahu in 2007 and her husband several years prior. “The United States is our home already,” Ahu glows. “As a family, we want to keep contributing to our society to the fullest. It is a privilege to officially be a part of this magnificent country.” In all, the process took Ahu and her husband 14 years.

Different culture, different people, different food, and a different field. However, I am very passionate about my real estate career and being a part of the Bennion Deville Homes family.”

Kevin began his real estate career in Chicago in 1993 and moved to the Coachella Valley after visiting the area for years. As a longtime industry professional, Kevin is well-versed in the nuances of real estate. Bennion Deville Homes proudly welcomes REALTOR® Linda James to the Carlsbad office, located at 300 Carlsbad Village Drive, Suite 217. Linda earned her real estate license in 2015 and enjoys working with clients throughout San Diego County, serving needs from North County San Diego down to the UTC area.

The daughter of a real estate professional, Linda first earned her real estate license in her 20s before moving into the financial sector. This early exposure to the industry, as well as the knowledge and skills gained working in the financial sector, make her an asset to her clients. “I help guide my clients down the right path by answering their questions related to the complete real estate transaction process, purchase or sale, and how it connects with their larger financial picture,” Linda says. “Real estate is a natural fit for me because it’s a segment of what I work on in financial planning and management. I believe in finding the client the right home that not only meets their needs, but also compliments their lifestyle.”

Working in the financial services industry has sharpened her knack for providing exceptional client service. Spring-boarding off her desire to help others professionally, Linda is passionate about lending a hand to those in need in her community on her personal time. “I enjoy volunteering for worthy causes and have always been involved with organizations I believe in.” Her volunteer time is split between a few different causes, including the Parkinson’s Association, Girl Scouts, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, and the Junior League of San Diego.

Bennion Deville Homes Palm Springs Main REALTOR® David Carden of the Carden Maguire Team is deeply rooted in the Palm Springs community. As the founder of Volunteer Palm Springs, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization, his vision for improving the community and his lifelong endeavor to give back touches the lives of thousands. Volunteer Palm Springs’ latest initiative is to call attention to public safety and to put a stop to a string of roadway accidents involving cars, pedestrians, and bicyclists. As a result, they are selling safety vests for pedestrians, bicyclists, and dogs to help increase visibility and decrease accidents. For these reasons, we shine a bright spotlight on the exceptional work David and Volunteer Palm Springs are doing.

 

Bennion Deville Homes [BDH]: What is it about this cause that is near and dear to you? Why do you want to bring awareness?

David Carden [DC]: I have been doing public/community service since I was 16 years old – I am now 68+ and have never stopped or looked back.  My commitment to any city I have ever called home has been to help make it better and impact other peoples’ lives in a positive way.

I founded Volunteer Palm Springs in 2010 with only 30 people. Since then, our membership has grown to over 1,100+ members and we earned 501(c)3 non-profit status. In addition to finding volunteer opportunities for our members, our organization was looking for a way to create a community-based educational and public awareness program. For three-and-a-half years I volunteered with Citizens on Patrol and saw many accidents involving vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists firsthand. It occurred to me I just might find the right combination of community involvement, volunteerism, and a cause to help make our city streets safer – and Voila!  P.S. Cares (Palm Springs – Public Safety).  I designed the heart-shaped logo because we want to make the month of February ‘Public Safety Month’ in Palm Springs. Hopefully these efforts will help further champion the cause.

BDH: What is your role in the roll out of P.S. Cares and the safety vest program? Any updates thus far in the campaign?

DC: I created the outline of the public safety program more than two-and-a-half years ago. We installed a committee who has worked tirelessly in developing a program which included tips for pedestrian, traffic, and bicycle safety in a positive way.  Our goal is to get people to start talking about public safety and, in doing so, we hope to change their behavior to become safer. I feel we all have to take more responsibility for our own public safety and the best way to do it is to start paying closer attention and focus on what you can do to improve: Don’t speed, don’t travel distracted, mind the traffic laws, respect the road, and wear a safety vest at night! I know bad habits are hard to break, which is why we are partnering with the Palm Springs Police Department (PSPD) with this program.  We will be co-hosting upcoming public safety seminars in the coming months.  Our program is about education and awareness, PSPD will handle the enforcement – the perfect marriage.

BDH: Where can people find more information about the program or purchase the vests?

DC: Folks may visit our website – www.volunteerpalmsprings.org – for more information on both Volunteer Palm Springs and our P.S. Cares program. The vests are in stock and available for purchase. Even better, the program is self-sustaining.  For every two adult safety vests we sell ($25 ea.) we are able to donate one to a senior citizen, person in need, or homeless person at NO cost. For every two dog vests we sell, we will be able to donate a vest to the Animal Shelter/Animal Samaritans at NO cost when people adopt/rescue a dog. In addition to our vest program, people can join our ‘Adopt-a-Senior,’ ‘Adopt-a-Dog,’ ‘Adopt-a-Homeless Person’ initiatives – all features on our website.

BDH: Beyond safety vest sales, is there anything else you are doing to raise awareness or funds for the program?

DC: We will be having our First Annual Fundraiser on Sunday, February 19th, for ‘Living the Modern’ Home Tour as part of the Modernism Week festivities.  We expect to host 250 people which will provide the seed funds for purchasing the vests and paving the way for us to begin donations.

BDH: Is there anything else you would like to add about Volunteer Palm Springs or the P.S. Cares program?

DC: Our board is so pleased to be a partner with PSPD.  Public safety is the #1 issue in Palm Springs and we hope our program is well received. As I like to say, ”Remember, there is nothing more valuable than a human life. The life YOU save just might be your own!”

Andrea earned her real estate license in 2011, and was in the industry for several years prior, giving her a strong foundation of knowledge and know-how to help buyers and sellers throughout Southern California, including Orange, North San Diego, and Riverside counties.

Before earning her real estate sales license, Andrea worked for a real estate investment company where her duties included scouting locations to build new communities and picking finishes for homes. This exposure to the industry resonated with her, and fueled her passion for the business. “Real estate is so much fun,” she says. “Architecture and design are my two favorite aspects of the business, and I love sharing that passion with my clients. In addition to her love of design and her relationship-oriented style, clients enjoy Andrea’s fierce negotiation tactics and deep understanding of the latest market trends. “The key to success is having strong knowledge of the market and understanding how to use it to your advantage. You can leverage information to the benefit of your situation in negotiations, but also need to arm your clients with the most up-to-date, relevant details so they can make an informed decision. You have to stay focused and disciplined when it comes to keeping tabs on the latest information,” she adds.

When she isn’t guiding her clients toward a satisfactory real estate resolution, Andrea volunteers her time for a variety of causes, including fundraisers and food drives for animals and seniors. “It is important to maintain a philanthropic relationship with the community and give back whenever possible. I feel a greater sense of accomplishment and value by helping others, and knowing that my actions are making a positive impact in someone else’s life is a major reward.”
