The 2018 Dana Point Festival of Whales Promises Big Fun

The 2018 Dana Point Festival of Whales is a multi-weekend event held in honor of the majestic California Gray Whale, bringing awareness to protecting and preserving their natural habitat as well as honoring their annual migration south to warmer waters. Each year, the California Gray Whale makes its pilgrimage to Baja starting in November. Come March, however, there are literally hundreds of these fantastic giants swimming in the coastal waters along Orange County.

Held March 3-4 and March 10-11, the Dana Point Festival of Whales has tons of activities for the whole family to enjoy and draws thousands of whale admirers from around the world. Events include the opening day parade, street fair, arts and crafts shows and sales, classic car showcases, paddling and sailing opportunities, concerts (including pirates live music!), the cardboard “dinghy dash,” educational opportunities, environmental activities, tons of food and beverage vendors, whale watching excursions, and more.
