Windermere Real Estate Southern California Broker Associate Linda Novick, who works out of the La Quinta office located at 47-250 Washington Street, believes that the more you give, the more you get. Linda and her husband have become an integral part of the Sun City Palm Desert community, participating in just about every group imaginable and holding board positions, giving their time and resources to help make Sun City a more vibrant place to live. Currently, she is intimately involved with the Rainbow Club, promoting an event coming up on April 18th that features the combination of two exceptional desert activities – barbecuing and golf.
Linda and her husband were proactive in getting the Sun City Rainbow Club approved 10 years ago while Linda’s husband was on the HOA Board. The Rainbow Club supports the LGBT community and places an emphasis on family and friends. “We currently have over 90 members in our club, and growing,” says Linda. “We get together once a month for different events, including bowling outings, bocce, and tapas and wine nights where we participate in solving mentally challenging puzzles, play games, or watch a current event movie. Everyone has a lot of fun and genuinely enjoys getting together and meeting new people. The success of our club starts from the board, down.”
Currently, her club duties have her helping to organize a barbecue scheduled for April 18th, which will feature a putting contest and other fun activities. “We are excited about our upcoming barbecue. Anyone interested in attending or joining our club can go to our website for more details.” Membership is open to Sun City Palm Desert residents and is only $10 for the year.
In addition to her Rainbow Club duties, Linda volunteers for the Neighbors For Neighbors program, offering residents rides to the doctor, supermarket, and other destinations, as well as a hand around the house when needed. She encourages her clients to participate in the program, the largest in the nation. Linda helped start the Jewelry Club in Sun City, was the Ladies’ Golf Tournament Chair for 2 years, the Treasurer for the Couples Golf Club for 2 years, and an active member of the Emergency Preparedness Program for several years. When asked why she is involved in so many activities, Linda’s answer is simple. “I love giving back. You meet the best people doing volunteer work.”
“We are proud of Linda’s deep roots and philanthropic efforts in the Sun City community,” says Chris Anderson. “Linda’s sincere interest in her clients and passion for helping others embody the remarkable quality that we look for in a representative of our brokerage. On behalf of everyone, I would like to wish her a successful April event and a prosperous 2015.”
