Growing up, Kent’s family owned and operated a highly successful development company in the San Francisco Bay Area. Being exposed to the real estate business from an early age instilled in Kent a deep passion for homes and properties. As a result, he broke into the business with fervor. “I started doing remodels right out of college, first in Point Loma, Mission Hills, and La Jolla, and later above LA’s Sunset Strip,” says Kent. “By the late 80’s I headed back to the Bay Area — converting an old brick warehouse into a coffee house/restaurant in Marin County, eventually selling it to the 49er’s head coach.” Kent helps his clients by sharing knowledge gained from his experiences as a real estate investor. “I tell my clients to focus on the long-term because short-term gains just aren’t a sure thing.”
With real estate rooted in his family’s legacy, Kent understands all facets of the business and the type of client service it requires. “Clients need to have a level of trust in your abilities, and as an agent, you must prove yourself worthy of that trust,” adds Kent. From his background in remodeling homes, Kent also has an eye for the potential in properties. “I advise clients to look beyond the superficial, easily fixed issues focusing instead on what it has to offer and where its true values lie.” From a long history in the industry, Kent also knows how to advise his clients based on current conditions and trends in the market. “I have been through four real estate adjustments over the course of my career. You learn to recognize the signs that indicate when it’s time to be cautious or aggressive in your actions,” he continues.
