Windermere Real Estate Southern California has always given back to the local communities in which it serves, helping to improve the lives of others through various activities, headlined by the company’s Community Service Day. The Windermere culture also encourages its agents, managers, and staff to participate in philanthropic endeavors that benefit the neighborhoods where they live and work. Realtor® RoseAnne Foxx of the Palm Desert Portola office has taken this creed to heart, volunteering her time and resources to give back to one of the Coachella Valley’s most vital non-profit organizations, The Family YMCA of the Desert, where she serves as the 2015 Team’s Division Chair for the Sustaining Campaign. In this role, RoseAnne leads a team, including fellow Realtors® Gail Anderson and Jon McGihon, to raise funds for the organization’s programs.
RoseAnne’s relationship with the YMCA goes back to the 90’s when she was a single mother raising her daughter and in need of affordable after school childcare. “If it wasn’t for the YMCA’s after school and summer programs, as well as the financial assistance they offered, I would not have been able to work full-time or send my daughter to summer camp at Camp Oakes or day camp during the summer,” says RoseAnne. “It has always been my goal to give back to this organization because they were there for me when I needed them, and I wanted to increase my commitment and take on a larger role.”
After earning her real estate license and developing a strong client base over the years, RoseAnne is in the position to make good on her goal of giving back to the organization that gave her the ability to accomplish her professional aspirations and support her family. Terri Bona, Director of Fund Development for Family YMCA of the Desert, volunteered RoseAnne for the position based on their history together, which includes RoseAnne’s time working for the YMCA both as staff and a volunteer. “The YMCA relies heavily on charitable contributions from our friends, family, and local businesses. My mission is to make sure that my team of volunteers and campaigners meets our goal of $123,150 for the year so families that are experiencing what I went through are provided access to the assistance and programs they need,” concludes RoseAnne.
“I am proud of RoseAnne’s commitment to the YMCA,” says Bob Deville, Co-Owner of Windermere Real Estate Southern California. “Her desire to give back to her community and compassion for others embodies the generous principles that make up the ideal Windermere agent. I wish her and the YMCA a successful fundraising campaign.”
On Thursday, February 5th, the public is invited to a Kick-Off dinner hosted at the YMCA’s corporate offices in Palm Desert, located at 43930 San Pablo Avenue. To RSVP for the kick off dinner on February 5th, please contact Terri Bona at firstname.lastname@example.org. There is a follow-up event, Victory Party Thursday, on March 12, 2015 as well. There are various donor levels and any dollar amount is welcome and will be recognized.
The YMCA currently supports over 3,600 children, of which one-quarter receive financial assistance, at 43 program sites throughout the valley and dedicates itself to promoting youth development and social responsibility through programs such as the Aquatics Center, Youth and Government, day camps, resident camps, youth sports, and leadership development. All of the raised funds stay within the Coachella Valley and are used to support the various programs that the YMCA offers, including after school enrichment, childcare, sports, and financial assistance.
