Every year, Windermere Real Estate Southern California agents, brokers and staff roll up their sleeves to deliver much needed supplies and support to local non-profit organizations as part of their Community Service Day projects. This year, Windermere divided their Coachella Valley offices so that two charities, Roy’s Desert Resource Center and the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, would benefit. Perishable food goods and kitchen supplies were gathered to help stock the kitchens and pantries of these two fine organizations in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

On Friday, November 15th, Windermere Real Estate’s Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, and Palm Springs offices gathered and delivered six vehicle loads of the requested items to Roy’s Desert Resource Center for the Thanksgiving holiday. Named in honor of the late Riverside County Supervisor, Roy Wilson, Roy’s Desert Resource Center is the first comprehensive homeless center built in the Western Coachella Valley. Located in Palm Springs, the center offers shelter and numerous supportive services to homeless individuals every night. “We are very happily surprised at the large donation of food and contributions that Windermere’s offices brought in. This food will help more than 150 homeless people enhance their holiday weekend menus. We at Roy’s greatly appreciate all of the effort and items that Windermere agents donated and for their community support for the homeless,” said Le McClellan, Ph.D., Assistant Director at Desert SOS Operations.

Windermere Real Estate’s Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta and Indio offices gathered and donated food and supplies to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission on Monday, November 18th. Formed in 1971 by a group of local businessmen and churches, the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission provides for the emergency needs of the impoverished and destitute of the Coachella Valley through shelter and food services, rehabilitation programs, counseling, education, job skills and transitional living. According to Windermere Real Estate’s Indian Wells Managing Broker, Charlie White, who helped coordinate the effort, “The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission reported that the volume of items we collected will help approximately 250 people. Our agents enthusiastically embraced this project, as they always do, and we are pleased that our efforts will help make a difference for so many individuals and families in need.”
