Heat up your weekend at the Oxnard Salsa Festival, celebrating Salsa dancing and culture July 29 and 30th.

Hit the dance floor and immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Salsa dancing and culture at the Oxnard Salsa Festival, taking place July 29 and 30, from 11am to 7pm each day. This two-day celebration of all things salsa features food, music, and dancing, with a salsa tasting tent, live music, and, of course, Salsa dancing. Admission to the event is free, however, there is a $5 admission fee for the salsa tasting tent, which comes with 10 tasting tickets and a bag of fresh tortilla chips. Reserved and open seating around the concert area are available for additional fees as well.

The weekend lineup features a parade of musicians playing in front of a giant dance floor, as well as a community dance showcase and a friendly, charity-based competition “Dancing with our Local Community Stars,” featuring prominent local figures competing for a donation to their charity of choice. In addition to the hot dancing competition, a salsa recipe contest is also planned, with a maximum of 30 entrants. Tasting will be limited to judges conducting blind taste tests.

Beyond the heat of the salsa dancing and tasting, international food vendors will be serving up delicious grub, and over 100 arts, craft, and retail vendors will be displaying and selling their wares in the Festival Marketplace. Items include Mexican pottery, hand-crafted jewelry, art, toys, sunglasses, hats, gourmet sauces, potted succulents, and more.
